HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY

LETTER TO MY UNBORN CHILDREN Pastor David Olawade posted on one of our group chats about the passion of Alysia who gained notoriety for winning the 2014 race and the 2017 USATF Outdoor Championships (by completing the preliminary round of the 800m) while eight and five months pregnant respectively. He challenged his future wife to learn and be able to pray for 8hours at stretch when 8 month pregnant. I succulently shared how I would love my wife to still be able to pray for 18hours when she is 9 month pregnant. I also add that, the children could be named Revival, Rapture or even Prayer at least they would start praying in tongue from the mother’s womb.  As comic as this seems, it must not be neglected my dearly Children. Dear Children, I am writing to you because I know you, your name, your number and your purpose on earth, among other things. I am also writing to you because, like we used to say, we are not confused men, we know when you are coming, through whom you a...

5 REASONS YOU DIDN'T GET THE JOB

5 REASONS YOU DIDN'T GET THE JOB  With the unemployment rate still very high in the Nigeria, you may find yourself in the position of applying, interviewing, and still remaining jobless. You may have thought it was a sure thing; you may have left the office laughing and joking with the interviewer. So why was someone else hired and you weren't? These five reasons may shed some light on the situation. 1. You're overqualified It's not just a cliche--you really can be overqualified for a position. It's especially true in a tight economy. A candidate that is more qualified would require a higher salary and benefits package for a competitive offer and for long-term retention. If someone else interviewed who fit the qualifications but didn't overly exceed them, it might be in the company's best interest to hire him and save the cash. 2. You don't know the right people You may be great on paper, and you may interview really well--but if ...

INTERVIEW DRESS CODE

INTERVIEW DRESS CODE These days candidates for jobs wear jeans, purple sweat suits, and spike heels or sneakers. Other applicants show pierced body parts and spiked hair. Still others chew gum or show up in rumpled clothes or with their pants falling down. The outlandish dress costs some candidates the job. The first impression you make on a potential employer is the most important one. The first judgment an interviewer makes is going to be based on how you look and what you are wearing. That's why it's always important to dress professionally for a job interview, even if the work environment is casual. What's the appropriate dress code for an interview? You'll want that first impression to be not just a good one, but, a great one. The candidate dressed in a suit and tie is going to make a much better impression than the candidate dressed in scruffy jeans and a t-shirt . Consider these key aspects when dressing for a job interview: Style “Style is synonymous with ...

No matter where you are in the process, whether you're researching careers or moving through your career, you'll find that certain themes pop up again and again. We'll be digging in to each of these themes over time here at Careers Out There. For now, I'll give you a brief overview of some of the themes that pop up a lot. To provide examples of each theme in action, I'll share my personal experiences below.  1. What interests you? You definitely want to look in the mirror and ask yourself this question. Also ask your friends and family what they think interests you. This is something that can change a lot over time so keep asking the ques...

MIND-BLOWING CV TIPS

Your resume has just 15 seconds to work for you, make it happen Your resume represents ‘you.’ A recruiter sees who you are through your resume. As a result, the resume is and should be the first marketing point. Events take place at light speed now. People spend lesser time doing things now; do not expect things to be different when it comes to your resume and recruiters. Recruiters spend barely 15 seconds on your resume. Therefore, if you want to secure your dream job fast, you should know these basic resume secrets. Give them what they want fast. You have at most 20 seconds to convince a reader that your resume deserves a complete read. Did I just say 20 seconds? It may be less. Most recruiters never read past the first page of your resume. Frankly, Human Resource Managers are no longer patient (it is not as if they are bad, inconsiderate guys; the workload is getting huge nowadays) So the first rule of resume writing is to get to the point fast. This means that you have...

GOD'S LOVING KINDNESS

Image
Psalm 51:1-19 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your loving kindness… God's kindness is more than ordinary, and more than extraordinary; it must be called "loving." The kindness is loving, and the love is kind. There is no love like His, no kindness like His. All kind. hess but this, if you use it often, wears out. However great the kindness of a neighbour be, if you keep daily drawing upon it you will soon exhaust it. The kindness of a friend has limits which are soon reached and passed, The kindness of a father or a mother — for that is the kindest that this world possesses — that, even that, has its limits. God's kindness is loving. It is the strong band of love that makes it so long and so lasting. You cannot break that cord, it is so fine and yet so strong.

15 Reasons Why Being Realistic Will Lead You To Being Average Being realistic, for most, has meant leading a life that we can predict, and where the ‘unknown’ has little chance of rearing it’s head. If your idea in life is to experience new things and continually progress towards personal fulfillment, then being a realist will surely jam the brakes on your path to get there. Felix Baumgartner (above pic), expert parachutist, best known for his stratospheric jump and free fall, exemplifies a person who focuses on expanding his own boundaries. Yes, his may entail life or death acts of courage, or some may say he is a crack-pot, but his principles are built on why we as humans progress.  – Ability to see ‘What Could Be.’ – Belief of ‘What Could Be.’ – Desire to act on ‘What Could Be.’ Lets face it, the average joe would probably think he’s crazy, but crazy can be interpreted in different ways. I’m sure Felix believes it’s crazy not to challenge yourself and ...
